I don't know what it is (too much continuous coverage of Octomom?), but I have developed an octopus craving of late. Everywhere I turn, there's something adorable or stylish I am itching to get my hands on.
If I had a sleek, all-white beach house, I'd put one of these on a lacquered side table. Each one is made to order, so the only problem would be deciding among the lovely colors (full disclosure: I covet the brown one).
But for something a little more budget-friendly, I would go for an octopus bracelet. I'd just throw it on with a flirty cover-up, sit poolside, and let the compliments roll in.
Every beach bath needs a hook for robes, towels, or wet suits. This one is a little less than anatomically correct (where are the other two legs?), but the cute factor wins out. And it hooks over the door, so there's no tricky installation or errant holes left behind.
Granted, Dermond Peterson makes beautiful pillows of every stripe—their Seaside collection is one amazing graphic print after another—but these bold octopi have me completely won over. And the natural linen background and endless choice of colors make them an easy fit for any decor.
Oh my yes, I need an octopus dish scrubber. The top holds soap at the ready, and the tiny eyes and bold color might inspire me to actually do the dishes every once in a while.
And it's decided. I'm going out to build myself an outdoor shower this weekend just for this. Sure, it could work in an indoor one, too, but to me it screams beach house. If you can keep your shampoos, soaps, and conditioners neatly contained and off the ground at the same time, you may start wishing you had eight arms yourself.
If you see any more great octopus items, let me know! I'd love to get my tentacles on 'em.
