When it comes to getting a deal on furniture, sometimes I act impulsively. I did just that this past week when I purchased a china cabinet for next-to-nothing from one of my husband's colleagues. It's pretty hideous, but the potential...oh the potential. It's the perfect June project. I've been surfing around for inspiration, and here's what I'm thinking.

I found this on junkmarketstyle.com. I love the idea of replacing the traditional back with beaded board. Using a dark hue on the exterior and a lighter color inside really highlights what's inside as well.

This china cabinet redesign gives me hope that I can actually pull off a pretty drastic makeover as well. I know I'll be taking on some major sanding and repainting. But the actual color and details are still up in the air. Again, the back is painted a lighter shade to highlight the interior.

I like the idea of doing something a little more out there with the glass doors as well. The yellow border here adds another pop of color and architectural detail.

I also found this photo on Apartment Therapy, and love, love, love the idea of tacking up wallpaper to the back.

Or, dare I wallpaper some other major portion of i like this filing cabinet? Stay tuned  for the finished product.
