The BEST Minorcan clam chowder is at the Beachcomber in St. Augustine, Fla. This red chowder recipe comes down from the Oldest city’s Spanish inhabitants. It’s the perfect blend of tomato-ey goodness, spice and salty clams.

The VERY BEST place to have steamed blue crabs is at Ed’s Crab Shack in Dewey Beach, DE. EVERYthing is better at Ed’s! It’s a roadside stand between Rehoboth Beach,DE and Ocean City, MD. The last time I was there, I was just off the beach in my swimsuit and I got into a conversation with a lady in a slinky nightclub dress about her necklace. It’s that kind of place!

Pop’s Fish Market in Deerfield Beach has THE BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had. Pop’s is (as the name may imply) a fish market, so if you decide to eat there, you get to sit at a table wedged into a corner. But oh! the crunchy crispy salty fishy goodness!

For fish tacos its Outriggers in Seabrook, TX. And you have to try the stuffed jalapenos and crab dip while you sit on the deck and watch the boats go through the channel.

Believe it or not, I found the most delicious crabcake sandwich in Clinton, NJ at the Fine Diner on Old Route 22. Spending most of my childhood summers on the Chesapeake Bay, I know a thing or two about crabcakes. My rule is to never order one outside of Maryland. Last summer on our way to the berry patch, we stopped in the Fine Diner and I don’t know why but I ordered the crabcake sandwich. It was a perfect blend of juicy jumbo lumps of crab, balanced spice, and a crispy golden exterior. I was in heaven.

The best seafood I have come across was actually in the north georgia mountains at a little place called The Last Catch in Jasper GA. Shrimp were large and breaded perfectly..We felt we were at the beach!!! Crab Cakes were plump and tasty. They offer Grouper , Salmon etc. there which was obviously very fresh..check it out!!!
