Do you recognize this smiling face from our May 2010 issue? You should! He was our pick for Coastal Hero (our column that celebrates philanthropic individuals who give back in great ways to our world's oceans). I just heard news this morning that the TV series, Chefs A' Field, was selected as a winner of a James Beard award for Rick Moonen's hosted episode in Alaska. For the show, he and a crew traveled to remote villages on the Yukon River Delta to meet with Yuk'ik natives and learn about their mystical King Salmon. While there (and all caught on cam), they discuss the Yup'ik culture, environmental challenges, and why salmon is the center of the Alaskan universe. Pretty interesting stuff!

Watch a trailer of the show here: chefsafield.com and check out Rick's feature in our May issue, which is on newsstands now!

Go Rick!
