2011 Ultimate Beach House, Week 6: Adding the Trim

May 2, 2011 | By | Comments (3)

The devastating storms that swept across 7 states last week touched down hardest in Virginia in Washington County 4 hours north west of Norfolk. Fortunately these brutal storms did not do any damage to the site or the house, but we did get some 30-40 mile per hour winds and driving rain for about an hour. This week we are back to beautiful 82 degree weather.

The theme for this week is trim, trim, trim!

The exterior trim and Hardie siding are nearing completion on the north side of the house facing the Bay.  The carpenters have been busy all week on the interiors, installing the base and crown moldings. This week, were expecting the Bolection interior doors.  We hear they are beautiful!

That must be an achievement for the builders of the house. For it to withstand such violent storms means that it was built in accordance with the standards. It would be a waste if it had been damaged while still under construction, right? Btw, it looks amazing! I like the dormers the most.

We know that you’re looking for kitchen doors which will last for years but won’t cost the earth.
