Summer is in full swing–and that means its prime time for beachside reading! And what better way to kick off our Beach Reads Book Club than with a novel written by the master of beach-appropriate literature, Elin Hilderbrand. Elin has lived on Nantucket for 20 years (For all you who’ve visited the New England paradise, expect a few references to hot spots around town in her books.) and all of her novels have been set on the island.
Her twelfth novel, Beautiful Day, is no exception. (If you haven’t picked up a copy, purchase it here.) The book spans just a single weekend, as two families gather on Nantucket for a summer wedding. All of the details of the wedding have been planned according to the wishes of the bride’s deceased mother, which were kept in a notebook she left behind after her death. (We’re already intrigued! For a full description, click here.)
We’ve already been hearing great things about the book, and Elin’s knack for creating incredibly relatable characters and passion for painting such a dreamy picture of her hometown will no doubt make this the perfect book to bring along to the sand this month.
So, we hope you’ll follow along with us! We’ll be discussing a different portion of the book each week, plus sharing a few Q&As from Elin, too. Here’s the schedule for our blog post discussions, if you’d like to join in:
Wednesday, July 10 – Thursday (Pgs. 1 – 108)
Wednesday, July 17 – Friday (Pgs. 108 – 215)

And, don’t forget to join us Monday, July 22, at 7 PM EST for a live Twitter chat with Elin!
