Why round?
“The inspiration behind the round towel came very naturally sitting at our local beach in Australia. We noticed how our beach umbrella cast a circular shape, and a round towel just made sense! You can maximize your towel space in the umbrella shade. Growing up, we owned a very old 80’s style round towel, it was faded grey with a hideous hot pink lighting bolt down the middle of it but we used it all the time because it was so functional. So we reinvented it and designed the round towel in beautiful prints, 100% thick plush cotton with a soft tassel for luxury.”

What inspires your patterns and overall design?
“Inspiration is all around. I see round towel designs everywhere (sometimes in my sleep, ha), from a pretty Moroccan tile to the changing colours of the ocean.”

Did you have careers before launching the company? If so, what were they?
Emma: I was a stay at home mum.

Victoria: I managed a cafe.

What advice to others considering starting a business?
Emma: Play to your strengths. I do the design. Victoria is the business side. If you’re not good at keeping accounts get someone onboard who is. It really makes life easy. We are so grateful to our amazing staff, each of whom is individually brilliant at his or her role.

Favorite beach:
Dreamtime Beach in Fingal Headland, Australia. It has these amazing black rocky cliffs surrounded by blue sea and white sand it’s a truly magical place.

Beautiful new beach towel, toys for digging, umbrella, some music and a cooler full of water and fresh fruit. Oh, and a handout telling people where to order their beach towel. We know that they will ask about it!

What would I pack in my beach bag? Sunscreen, sunglasses, big brimmed hat, flip flops for long walks on the hot sand, binoculars (you never know what you might spot on the beach or in the water), mesh bag for collecting sea glass and sea shells to add to my collection, my Kindle loaded with some good summer reads, frozen bottles of water and a few energy bars to get me through the day. And I hope I’ll be adding one of the beautiful Roundie beach towels!

Intriguing, over-sized sun glasses to peer over while people watching, a mindless book with a false cover to lure curious literary’s in for a peek, a nice blue ink pen for signing autographs because obviously I must be a star, look at my beach blanket!

I would have a spray can of sunscreen that hasn’t passed it’s expiry date. Nothing worse than getting to the beach with the kids and the can doesn’t spray! I’d have my book on tape so that I can sit on my beautiful beach towel and watch the waves. I’d have a cooler with frozen water, frozen grapes and cheese sticks. I like to carry ziplock bags for the treasures found on the beach and I’d have to have a pen and paper to write down the website for The Beach People. Everyone is going to want to know where to get their Roundie!

I’m a wake surfer so I’d take it on our boat along with my sunglasses, big round hat, and sun bum lotion. It’d be perfect for the back of the boat to get warm and nap after water sports!

In my beach bag I would bring, my thoughts of happiness to sing.
My poems committed to heart and mind, to ponder my world in which I find,
Grateful dreams, surrounded love, fresh breeze of peace; a soaring dove.
In my beach bag I would carry, my happy place; problems, narry.
I would store pockets of sun,
    Contented musings, of being one.

In my waterproof beach bag, which is large so I only have to take one bag, absolutely natural sunscreen, sand-gone (must have with little ones) a soft cooler full of frozen water bottles packed with drinks, lunch and snacks for a full day at the beach! Beach toys to make sand castle and tunnels, floaties to relax in the water on, sunglasses and hats for the whole family, speaker to play music, a good book, Flip flops and water shoes and of course the Roundie Beach Towel ( “this dreamy towel!”) for my family to enjoy and relax on the hot sand.

As my husband and I glide slowly down the shoreline on our vintage blue bicycle-built-for-two, we come upon the perfect spot among the dunes to set up our sunset picnic. From our worn but sturdy hamper we shake out our lovely new beach-towel-for-two, which unfolds neatly beneath our feet. We sit cross legged on our new treasure, enjoying its softness as we continue to unpack our hamper. Out comes homemade tuna salad sandwiches wrapped in wax paper, chips, and sweet pickles, two crystal stemless wine glasses, and a screw top bottle of still cold rosé. Snuggling in the dwindling light, we toast the setting sun, the pelicans headed to their roosts, and our love and happiness. Cheers!

Hubby and me would take our majorelle roundie towel down to the surf. We would set it up as a sun shelter, while me and hubby played in the sand, making a castle with a moat. With a cool breeze coming by we’re enjoying life in this moment in time.As our day ended we take our roundie towel and wrap ourself’s in it, listening and watching the waves, dolphins and the sun go down. A great ending to a beautiful day.

With the chaos of life with a little one, I believe simplicity is best, just beach towels, sunglasses and sunscreen. The beach is where we go to let the stress of the week be washed away and to restore our energy and connect with nature and to each other. It’s a precious time with our son, Simon who is almost 2, he holds hermit crabs in his chubby toddler palms and has learned to throw rocks into the sea. On his third attempt he missed and hit my husband in the face, priceless! Those memories are why we go despite the sand that lingers for weeks in the car, house, and bath tub. All you need is family, a sunny day, and hey, a round beach towel 🙂

What’s in my beach bag? A roundie beach towel for two, some wine for me and you, sunscreen so we don’t have a drastic change in hue, water to helps us feel anew , food to savor and chew, and a book for the beach should always be in reach too.

    Oooooo LA LA!
In addition to that gorgeous beach must-have towel, I would include good old fashion sunscreen, sunglasses, a big floppy sun hat, grapefruit san pellegrino, and of course my latest issue of Coastal Living!

By oversized chevron patterned beach bag is brimming with beach essentials such as a good sunscreen, beach shovels and buckets for the kids, fluffy beach towels, magazines, twizzlers candy and a box of Cheez it crackers ( beach day must have snacks), a few cans of diet coke, water bottles, and some seashells that we found by the waters edge. In my beach bag – a cool looking towel to lay on (the Roundie!!!), a small towel to cover my face from the sun if I choose to lay in the sun (to “sun dry” when I get out of the water), frozen water (to melt and refresh), ice cold fruit, sunscreen, a good book, camera (to always remember the moments). I’ll be toting an umbrella, too. And I’ll fall asleep while listening to the water and feeling those gentle breezes! Oh, my, I think I need to get to the beach asap!!!
