Here comes the weekend, America, and it’s time to get out of town… and to somewhere warm and sunny. Somewhere like, let’s say, this:
And for that to feel right, the temperature’s got to look like this:
Which means, to get all of us out of the polar vortex and into weather above 70 degrees, we need to look at this (with a loving hat-tip to NOAA):
And that, to my eye, means we need to look here:
In other words… Hello, Florida!
So without further ado, here are six winter getaways in sunny, warm, Florida. If you live in the Southeast, this is a long-weekend road trip. If you don’t, grab that holiday flight pronto. Check out this hot half-dozen Florida escapes:
Key West: The Conch Republic is warm, full of great seafood, and knows how to throw a party. (Remember last year when the tourism people in Ithaca, New York, just plain gave up and sent people to Key West from their own website?)
So grab your keys, or grab a plane ticket, and head south for the weekend. I know I’m going to.
