A new year is in full swing, and lofty resolutions are its best friend. Maybe one of yours is to reorganize and declutter the homestead? I often commit to an out with the old, in with the new clean sweep, and without fail, always stumble upon a piece I’m simply not yet ready to part with. Anyone else guilty? Well, thanks to this ocean-inspired DIY project, you can keep the old, too!

Here is another nautical DIY project that will help you get organized!

DIY Nautical Whale Dresser

The artistic mastermind behind this redesign project is Rachel, a popular blogger and furniture transformer. We love her idea of giving an old, worn out mahogany dresser a completely fresh theme–a theme we think would be especially fun for a kid’s bedroom! For the full tutorial on how to makeover the outdated dresser collecting dust in your own home, hop on over to her blog, Shade of Blue Interiors. Out with the old, in with the blue!

Give your table a touch of nautical, too, with this classic-colored tablescape.

Or, give an entire room a nautical makeover by stealing this look from Baron’s Cove Resort in Sag Harbor!
