Love barbecue, fresh-shucked oysters, and craft beer? You don’t want to miss the Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest’s Oyster Roast & Pig Picking.
And the best part? You’re indulging for a good cause. Now in it’s 9th year, the Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest benefits the MD Anderson Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society, and the Hilton Head Island Recreation Association.
The Oyster Roast and Pig Picking, which happens tonight at 5:30 at Honey Horn Plantation, is just one component of the week-long seafood fest, which also includes educational programs (like boat excursions with two area watermen, who will show you how to oyster, crab, clam, and shrimp!) and plenty of other opportunities to eat fresh seafood.
The week-long celebration of seafood culminates tomorrow in the headlining event: an all-day food fest featuring local restaurants and chefs, live music, and a silent auction!
Thanks to Michael Hrizuk for the beautiful photos!
