Nestled beneath a charming dormer, the front porch spreads the width of the cottage and calls guests to kick back and relax. Tall swinging shutters and stained front doors with transom windows provide necessary height, contrast, and overall warmth to the entry.

The cozy white-brick fireplace is the icing on top of the dark hardwood floors and white shiplap walls outlining the living room.

Opposite from the living room is a galley-style kitchen overlooking an open dining space.  With Viking appliances, Carrara marble countertops, and a walk-in pantry (wine fridge included!), what the kitchen lacks in size it makes up for in quality finishes.

And how darling is this upstairs guest room? With raised judges panels to add plenty of character and enough space to accommodate a sitting area, this bedroom could serve as a peaceful respite after a full day.

The highlight of this home is its close proximity to all the Palmetto Bluff hot spots. Enjoy a swim in the Wilson Village pool or take an evening stroll down the brick-paved sidewalks to a few of Bluffton’s finest restaurants. Everything you want and need is at your fingertips, making this the perfect primary or vacation home. See more photos and the full listing here.

very pretty, but unless I’m looking out my windows and seeing a beach right in front of me, I don’t see that this hose would be worth more than maybe 500k, trying to sell at over1.6 mil is insane!

Glad to see everyone is thinking the same thing bc 1.7 million is outrageous even for CA prices. Unless you have full access to the waterfront with a boat house and private beach this price is crazy.

I am waiting for some real home prices, and homes that are small. The thing here is, we want some homes that we can afford to buy, not dream about …. and that is what the small home thing is all about. I prey that someone out there will listen and help the people get into a small home at the price that we can afford.

Why is this home so overpriced? This is South Carolina, not California!

Like Mallory, I would like to get a copy of the floor plans. I live in NY, on Long Island, and plan to renovate a small one-story cottage that will be our retirement home. This Lowcountry home has great curb appeal, and we do plan to add a second floor. Thanks.

It’s beautiful house in a beautiful area- we just got back from a 5 day visit (stayed at the Inn at Palmetto Bluffs). I’m 60 and my husband is 63 and we’re looking for places to retire in 2 years. But we’d still like to keep our home on the North Shore of Massachusetts which we own (no mortgage) so that and remembering how my parents retired when they were a bit older down South and only got to enjoy it for <10 years before health issues required that they move back North, closer to large medical centers (and into an assisted living facility) makes us pause. IF there were more smaller and less expensive homes, maybe.
