I love the book Blue Mind! I am going to read it again because reading about the neuroscience of how being in/near water changes us is so neat. It keeps my dream of living by the water someday alive!

I’m off to the beach on Saturday. Just me and Kate (DiCamillo, of course!) and a new friend she’s promised to introduce me to—Raymie Nightingale. What’s better than kicking off the summer with an old and a new friend? Kate says Raymie and I have a lot in common—that Raymie worries about her soul, just like I do, and that she’s grappling with loss. Been there, sister. Raymie Nightingale, I know you and I are going to hit it off. Kate has introduced me to plenty of new friends over the years and she’s never let me down.

My grandmother got me hooked to Mary Higgins Clark about 15 years ago. I am going to read her new book “As Time Goes By!” She passed away but when I read Mary Higgins Clark books it makes me feel close to her & remeber my summer reading on my grandma’s front porch.
Thank you for for the reminder 🙂

I like most books by Dorothea Benton Frank for a summer read because they always feature 1. A heroine who manages to get her life together 2. Fun friends and dialog and 3. The amazing coasts of My home state South Carolina!

I’m looking forward to reading ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ again. I haven’t read it in over 30 years but it is on my daughter’s summer reading list. It will be so fun to reread and hear her perspective on the story.
