My place to find the ocean’s greatest treasures is on Topsail Beach in North Carolina. Although they aren’t exotic, each one is a masterpiece. To my daughter, they are finer than gold! We love picking out special ones with which to adorn our necks. We take the ocean with us wherever we go thanks to this precious beach.

My favorite beach for shelling is Sanibel Island in Florida they have different varieties that you can collect. If you get up early you can catch live ones but you have to boil them out. I once found a piece of worm corral on Sanibel, we put it in our small sea Aquarius which contained a clown fish and a sea horse. we boiled it and bleached it and rinsed it. We put it in the tank and some worms still came out . found one wrapped around our sea horses mouth. It was a mad rush to get the couple that survived out. Sanibel by far is the best shelling beach

We took our first trip to Tybee Island, GA about a year ago. We were lucky enough to catch a boat tour that took us to one of the virgin islands that had poped up near the river. We were astonished at all the shells we found, and not just one kind. There were also sea urchin shells, horse shoe crabs and sand dollars galore. We were thrilled to find such a beautiful and pristine place and came back with not only great memories, but lots of shells!

I have only been to a beach in England on the North Sea. I don’t recall the name, but I found a lot of shells and got chased by a crab.

When I lived in Pawleys Island, SC I found the most seashells every day I strolled the shoreline. Living now in Hilton Head Island, SC shells are not as plentiful, but it’s still a good place to find shells. My home is full of shells, some from my mother that date over 70 years old. I am an Island Girl and my lifestyle reflects that. I wear shell earrings from my other home base in Kauai……I love shells everywhere and love to wear them!

Hands down thats an easy one with out any doubt it’s obviously Sanibel Island evan Captiva has awsome shelling opportunities. Many shelling beaches yet Sanibel has the most beauitful places to get your stoup on! Miss those days of beach combing for shells on vacation from Ohio with my exhusband! Loved seeing all those beauitful seashells on the sandy beaches it’s absolutely breath taking awesome on the gulf coast!
