i have always had such a love for schells! the best way to decorate with schells is to place them in a simple glass mason jar!what a natural and fun way to display natures beauty! my heart goes back to collecting them when i was a young girl!

I decorate with shells by putting all my beautiful found shells in a 3-tiered serving dish. This is a great way to display shells and guests to our home love looking through them. I encourage all guests to take home their favorites; I can always get more on my daily beach bike rides.

I like using seashells to leave little subtle reminders around my house of wonderful trips I have taken. Just looking at the seashell will help bring me back to that wonderful time. I’ve like putting bigger seashells out on a table and filling the base of glass lamps with smaller ones.

I use collected shells to make picture frames. I hot glue them on inexpensive frames, then I place pictures of that vacation in the frames. A two fold memory of a beautiful beach!

I’ve been collecting shells since I was a little girl. I’ve since passed my love of shelling onto my little boy. He and I will bring our treasures from the beach back to Ohio (first we make sure there’s no stowaways). We have a fountain/pond area in our front yard made of stone. We’ve added our beautiful shells to this area where we can reminisce of our fun times together.

I simply fill wicker baskets and glass vases. This allows my guest to look at and touch them all.

My gardens and plant containers are the beneficiaries of my seashell collection! Not only are they an added feature to garden design, but also add nutrients to the soil. I also have little glass yogurt jars in which I put small seashells, beach pebbles and beach glass. I add an incense stick (to keep mosquitos away!) on my backyard patio. So glad summer is finally here!

There’s no limit to how you can decorate with seashells! I glued small ones on a switch plate in a bathroom. It looked great!

I like to collect larger shells and use them in the guest room and bathroom for jewelry holders so everything is close by. My personal OCD is I have a few jars, one is beach stones and the other beach glass and shells and have them seperate by color in a vase then when I find coral washed up or a sea fan I let it dry and put it in the vase like a floral arrangement, it’s different and really pretty.

It’s always been “Sue sells seashells by the seashore” since I create them out of Chocolate! I adore your beautiful shell designs. They are an inspiration to my pearlescent finish on my pieces and I greatly appreciate hand crafted excellence!

My husband and me hot glued starfish above entryway of our kitchen and also along the alcove of main entrance of our house. I also glued various shells on wreath and used battery operated mini lights to hang on front door.

Seashells are my travel memories. Texture, colour, shape, each piece reminds me of a special moment spent by the sea. Such wonderful moments to keep which are saved on our fireplace mantle.

I love to use them all around the house ~ they are beautiful on a grapevine wreath or around a mirror. Plus really large ones I use in my front yard garden beds and flower pots-bring a little bit of the ocean home with me! 🙂

I use them anywhere and everywhere in my home. I have them on the coffee table in a basket, I have a large old shell that belonged to my great-grandfather there with the others, I don’t get to the coast much anymore, I buy my shells now by the box full at thrift shops and other places. I love them.

Having lived on three different coastlines, I’ve always loved to scour the beach for shells to collect. I have a tray of shells from Florida, California, and Hawaii. I love the differences between them all. I don’t make anything with them, just display them in various places throughout our home and in my office. So many wonderful memories come with each shell!

I am in love with seashells!! I have them in every room of my house – – I live in Miami, Florida, so my seashell collection naturally blends in with the interior design of my home! My favorites in my collection are from Long Island, the Caribbean and the Carolinas. I grew up in Atlanta and spent a lot of time at Hilton Head Island, so I have a large collection of oyster shells from Hilton Head, which are my most treasured, for family memories!

I display my shells in a beautiful crystal vase. Since it is clear, you can see all of the beautiful treasures that I have found. Most of them have been from North Carolina and South Carolina beaches. I was born to be a beach girl! Sand in my soul, salt water in my veins.

I live in the city, but my heart is at the beach. My space is coastal/rustic and you’ll find shells everywhere you look. I use shells in homemade terrariums, hanging ornaments and am working on a custom bench for my dining table with a feature shelf of shells and starfish. I always want to feel like I’m at the ocean.

My absolute favorite way to decorate shells!

I love to decorate with all of the shells my children and I have collected over the past ten years. My husband is an officer in the United States Marine Corps and we are so fortunate to be stationed in so many beautiful beach areas throughout the years! The kids and I collect shells every place that we live. I love filling our home, not only with the gorgeous shells, but with the memories that we connect and share with them. – Emily ❤

I use shells and sand and old barbie dolls that I paint to create a “mermaid” in a bottle -then fill it with water and decorate the outside of the bottle with cords that resemble something you would find on a boat. I display them surrounded with more shells that I have got from various trips I have been on and collected! ❤

  34. Karen Templeton

Being a homesick island girl, I decorate everything, including myself, with shells! Of course I have the ubiquitous glass vessels and apothecary jars filled with shells, coral and sea glass. I have a sterling silver necklace with dozens of seashell charms hanging from the rear view mirror in my SUV. The corresponding charm bracelet is on my wrist. Several family portraits in my home have shell charms on delicate chains draped beautifully from the top of the frames. My china collections have various shell motifs, down to coordinating linens, napkin rings and serving piece handles. My throw pillows throughout my home have shell themes. I have large conch shells strategically placed in my courtyard and patios.

Too much is never enough! More is more!

My favorite way to decorate with shells is surrounding my mermaid statute next to the pool. I have at least one shell in every room of our home. We live on the Gulf Coast of FL so looking for shells is a favorite pastime. 🐚

My favorite seashell memory started out as a disaster. The movers lost some boxes, including the mobile for my daughters crib and she would cry and cry without it. At the time, we couldn’t afford to buy everything new while the movers found the misplaced boxes. So, I made my own mobile out of dental floss and shells I collected along the beach. It was lovely and the shells held special memories from collecting them. My friend saw it and asked me to make her one to hang at her beach house as a wind chime. We love relaxing and listening to it chime in the breeze.

I like to lay out a bunch of shells and sand on a table, a beachscape of sorts. I include rocks, little pieces of driftwood, and beach glass. My beachscape at work even has a mini Adirondack chair. And coworkers often come by for a mini “beach” getaway!

As a child on the Delaware Bay, in the cool of the evening, we would dig holes in the sand and press the shells that we had found that day into the damp sand on the sides. When it was perfect, apiece of string tied to a stick and placed across the top, hanging down into the hole. was the final step. My mom would melt square pieces of canning wax and run it down to the beach to us, and she would pour it into the hole and let it harden. Beautiful, memorable sand and beach treasure encrusted candles!
