National Seashell Day was earlier this week, and we’re rounding out our celebration of this awesome holiday with one last jewelry giveaway—this time, it’s with this cuff from the fabulous Gogo Jewelry! Handcrafted out of a metal alloy called alpaca and then oxidized, this piece was formed from the shell of the spiny murex conch. Talk about a keepsake!

My favorite beach activity with my family would be building sand castles and decorating them with seashells that we found along the beach. It reminds me of my childhood, having sand between my toes and laughing with my family.

My fave beach activity is relaxing and catching up with my friend, Katie! We used to work together and see each other every day, now that we don’t, we weekend beach catch ups at Sullivan’s Island, SC 🙂

My family and I live in Kansas, so we don’t make it to the beach very often. When we do, we love wading in the pretty crystal blue waters, building sky high sandcastles, and scooping up the delicate seashells to take home to make jewelry souvenirs of our trip. When the sun begins to go down, we sit on the beach huddled together on a blanket and watch the sunset – we have incredible sunsets on the prairie in Kansas, but a breathtaking sunset over the ocean is unparalleled.

My family and I are fortunate to have just moved to the stunning Emerald Coast in Callaway, Florida after my hubby retired from the USAF. I love taking our 3 kiddos to the beach! We hunt for shells, play in the sand, picnic, and marvel and the pristine beauty of the beach. Coastal living is so rewarding!

We live in MA. and enjoy going to Nantasket Beach. It’s a great beach for the whole family! We love walking the beach looking for sea glass and shells. One morning we completely lost track of time and walked almost the whole length of the beach….7 miles! I brought home lots of beach treasures from that trip!

My husband was born on the Chesapeake Bay. We visit family there every year, and, pack up everyone for a crab boil on the beach. The guys go out to set up our traps and bring back their haul for the ladies to cook up. We leave with full hearts and bellies! Our little guy has some BIG stories of these visits and can hardly wait until our next trip.

“23, 24, 25…”, the whacks of the ball are as steady as the crashing of the waves. Our family’s active beach past time is paddleball! Three generations spend hours flailing, jumping, and high-fiving during games which are more about laughing and seeing how may times we can volley than a real competition. From the time I was able to hold the paddle, my parents and grandparents have patiently and with pleasure entertained my request for one more try. We flop, breathless, on our towels after a quick, cooling dip!

Our kids have grown, so now our favorite beach activity is strolling leisurely down the beach with our bare feet in the sand; sometimes I’ll rest my head on my husband’s shoulder. We usually walk when the sun is setting, just as we did when we were dating in the 1970s. We do miss watching our children play in the sand and splash in the water, but we are happy to have these quiet moments together now. I can partly thank the beach for helping keep our romance alive after nearly 40 years.

We have been taking our four kids to Jellystone Waterpark in Wisconsin for 15 years straight! They still love going. There is a waterpark, lazy river, and slides. But the most fun we have is at the beach! Frisbee, volleyball, eating ice cream, building sandcastles, and making memories to last a lifetime. This is what we love and why our teens still love going there every summer!!

I live in the Pacific NW and while our beaches are magnificent, rugged, and absolutely beautiful, I have never experienced a beach such as the one(s) in Florida. It is almost as if you are walking on white powdered sugar. The color of the water is almost as perfect as one could dream of, beautiful. Destin!! Destiny beach someday forever. 🙂

We all have different favorite beach activities. My daughter likes to read and my son likes to dig in the sand or body surf. I like to walk on the beach looking for treasures or snorkel and my husbands favorite is to paddleboard or body surf. It’s a perfect day when the conditions are right for all of us to be able to each do what we love.
