UNSTILL WATERS RUM DEEP – was chosen for this layered surprise of a drink because “quite but so clever” is the meaning of the familiar idiom….“Still waters run deep.” The rum runs deep in this drink and the champagne is in motion, or unstill.

    * Bird of Paradise: With its elongated mango slices, this cocktail mirrors the exotic flower growing along Southern California’s shoreline, the Bird of Paradise. Perhaps after sipping its champagne to fiery orange gradation, one would feel the same warmth as the Bird of Paradise, stretching toward the rising sun.

The Price of Gold: Referring to it’s first and perhaps premier ingredient the gold rum. Coupled with champagne in fluted glasses it might bring to mind the prosperity in one’s life, monetary or otherwise…. if only for a moment.

Ombré Mango Mist. The sun dips low, pausing for just a moment on the horizon’s watery edge. The sea mist’s spray covers the sky in gauze as you take a slow sip of this sweet concoction and feel the troubles of the day slide away.

I love all the tropical names, but my mind went a completely different direction when I saw the beautiful bright red and orange colors of this drink. I’d call it Mars Landing. The bright orange/red representing the “red planet” and the white foam at the top being the polar cap.

“Sailor’s Sunset” Sailors have a saying “red sky at night sailors delight..red sky in the morning, sailors take warning” So it’s a play on this old saying…The colors remind me of a sunset and with the reds, oranges and the bubbles,
Well, I thought of the rolling bubbling waves and ocean meets sand…I like it…Jane

    Seagrass Serenade
In music, a serenade is a musical composition in someones honor, typically calm, light music. Translation of the Italian word Serenata.
Sitting in a canvas beach lounger, watching the day’s sun sink into the horizon… What peace to have a Seagrass Serenade in your hand!

Sunset Celebration – Whether it be with at a romantic beachside proposal, or a playful accumulation of friends; this cocktail duplicates the occasion with an early Champagne excitement, and slowly transitions into the pensive warmth finish of Rum.
